Statutory Inspection and Test: hotel groups
We’ve delivered electrical installation inspection services, portable and fixed appliance testing, lightning protection systems inspection and alarm and hearing loop testing for compliance with the Disability and Discrimination Act for over 69 UK nationwide locations for a leading international hotel group. And by deploying thermal imaging services, we also helped General Managers at these sites to troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical distribution and switchgear.
And for another multinational customer with nationwide hotel, restaurant and coffee shop brands, phs Compliance has delivered portable appliance test and inspection, servicing of fire-fighting equipment and remedial electrical repairs. We’ve also supported our clients’ asset management by providing location data and fitted CAD drawings for equipment installed in new hotel sites.
Mains supply isolation for electrical installation inspection, and ‘first time fixes’ to identified defects is never straightforward in highly operational ‘always in use’ hospitality environments such as hotels.
Excellent working relationships with site maintenance teams and hotel management proved essential in supporting effective and efficient delivery of planned compliance inspections. Meetings with site stakeholders one month before due inspection works helped all parties to communicate and schedule effectively and to minimise disruption and downtime.
We also notify all hotel guests in affected areas of inspection works and associated shutdowns, invariably aiming to complete all inspection and shutdown in early morning hours to avoid disruption. phs Compliance also ensure that at these times we mobilise the right mix of inspection and installation electrical engineers to optimise efficiency on site.
